Diversity Scholars

The goal of Data Scholars is to build an inclusive community in the Data Science space. Data Scholars provides mentorship and space to underrepresented and nontraditional students(re-entry students, transfers, student parents, students of color) and guides their transition from Data 8 to more advanced Data Science courses.

Meet the Team

The Diversity team works within the larger Data Science Education Initiative. This semester they've worked on the Data Science Scholars program. They've also conducted interviews with current Data 8 students to better understand student experience. They hope to incorporate student feedback in future efforts and implement industry visits, career counseling, and upper division course support.
